Hi everybody in this article, I want to show you how to remove sticker residue from laptop. I know a lot of developers like me have tons and tons of stickers. I have stickers from conferences stickers from software, I use stickers from the companies.
I’ve worked for stickers from who knows where and one of my favorite things to do is to personalize, my laptops so that means putting stickers on the back, the problem is, when you go to sell your laptop it ends up looking something like this, where there’s sticker residue that gets stuck and won’t come off.
I’ve looked around on the internet a lot for a way to fix this and in the past, there hasn’t been running really good tutorials, and I haven’t really found any good tips other than like sit there with goo, gone for hours and end up ruining the surface your laptop.
So I’ve actually found a way using packing tape that is a little bit better than the old, the old method where you’d sit there and you’d stick and release stick and release they can release for hours, and hours if you take the packing tape and I’m going to use my other camera to zoom in a little bit on this.
If you take the packing tape and you put it down with your thumb on the trailing edge you can actually rub it across a spot and it takes a lot of force, so you still have to be patient, but it’s a heck of a lot quicker and it’s sticking and lifting, you have to keep doing this for a little bit and basically rub it across the surface creating a ton of friction to reheat the adhesive and pull it off, and then after you do that you end up with one sticker gone, so if you have any other ways of doing it.
